A Ferreira e Filhos, committed to innovation and sustainability, is pleased to introduce its latest groundbreaking project in partnership with the University of Minho: Archknit. This innovative project aims to employ more environmentally friendly and efficient production processes in creating fully adaptable interior panels, made exclusively from multifunctional textile meshes and next-generation cementitious materials.
In the current market, it is common to find products that require a significant amount of labour, use heavy fixation systems, and employ unsustainable materials. Furthermore, these materials often do not allow for functionalization and have weaknesses in terms of mechanical resistance.
Our Archknit project represents a remarkable innovation as it focuses on the development of more efficient processes in terms of resource utilization and energy efficiency. With the capability for self-heating and thermal-acoustic insulation, Archknit panels promote the creation of innovative and high-value-added products. Additionally, this project provides efficient management of materials and energy, thereby reducing the environmental impacts associated with industrial waste discharge. As a result, Archknit will contribute to an eco-friendly economic growth with positive impacts on the regional economy.

The textiles developed within the scope of the Archknit project are designed with low-cost materials and production methods that seamlessly integrate into traditional industrial processes.
A Ferreira e Filhos is committed to leading the way in transforming the architectural sector with sustainable and innovative solutions. With Archknit, we are not only promoting a greener environment but also a brighter and more economical future for our region.
